Montgomerie Maxx Royal Golf Club
Antalya is not just a paradise for regular tourists, it’s also a haven for golf travelers. There are several golf courses located in the Belek region of the Turkish Mediterranean coast which is known for its natural beauty and fabulous climate but the Montgomerie Maxx Royal is the undoubtable standout.
The Montgomerie Maxx Royal Golf Club that is the third European Golf Design project course in the Belek area and was designed in conjunction with Scottish professional golfer Colin Montgomerie. The 104-hectare course presents a tough golfing challenge, even for low handicappers.
Maxx Royal features challenging and undulating fairways and a myriad of strategic options. The front nine involves numerous water hazards, while the back nine poses testing tee shots over large expanses of sandy land. If you want to make it home with a clean scorecard, you need to watch out for eight lakes dotted around the course, water hazards that are a prominent part of play, and being smart in placing the ball.
Don’t forget to enjoy the clubhouse which is the perfect resting place after being put to the test by this challenging golf course. Known to be one of the most impressive clubhouses in Belek, its 30-meter tower affords it elevated panoramic views over the golf course. These spectacular views can also be enjoyed from the terrace which looks out over the 18th hole.
In 2013, the Montgomerie Maxx Royal held the first Turkish Airlines Open, as part of the Race to Dubai series. Since then, the course has played host to a number of golf’s biggest stars.
