Forgiveness and Acoustics Combined
Bringing both a new look and better acoustics, the PING G400 driver combines forgiveness and distance.
PING’s new G400 driver replaces the hugely successful G30 and G families. The driver comes with an improved adjustable hosel design that offers better aerodynamics and settings (plus or minus 1-degree in both directions). A slightly smaller head with improved aerodynamics and forgiveness stability is claimed to make the G400 PING’s fastest, most forgiving driver ever.
The PING G400 is equipped with Dragonfly Technology; the ultra-thin crown and skirt cast produce weight savings to increase MOI and optimize the center of gravity location. Overall, PING engineers had 3-times more discretionary weight to use to increase the MOI and optimize the position of the center of gravity. PING engineers also designed the internal architecture to fine-tune the frequencies to produce a deeper, more muted sound.
Additionally, PING has employed a unique forging and patented heat-treatment process to the T9S+ face of the G400 Driver, this technique allows the face to flex 16% more when combined with the aerodynamics gains, resulting in ball speed gains of up to 2mph.
The G400 is available in four models: the standard, low-spin LST (Low-Spin Technology), the slice-fighting SFT (Straight-Flight Technology), and the new oversize Max which sets a new standard for stability. Each driver features those familiar drag-reducing ridges on the crown to make the large head glide through the air like a driver a third smaller.
