Bukit Pandawa’s First Open
Bukit Pandawa Golf & Country Club held its first open golf tournament. Besides being a golf tournament, the event was also held to raise funds for victims of the disaster in Sulawesi.
The inaugural Pandawa Open Golf Tournament was held on November 24 and began with two shotgun starts, the first at 7:30 am and the second at 1 pm. A total of 150 players took part in the tournament which was opened with the release of balloons and a golf shot by the General Manager of Bukit Pandawa Golf & Country Club, Djie Tjian An.
Although cloudy at the start of play, the sun soon came out to provide a glorious day of golf for the Indonesian and overseas players. Aside from having the chance to enjoy the beautiful Bukit Pandawa Golf & Country Club golf course, participants also had the chance to win a Toyota Alphard if they were lucky enough to sink a hole-in-one.
After a great day on the course, the players gathered for a buffet dinner at Kul Kul
Restaurant where several prizes were awarded to both teams and individuals who had shown off the best ability.
Spontaneous donations were also made on the night of the awards to add to the total raised. In all, Rp64,000,000 was collected and the funds were donated to Palu and Donggala on Sulawesi. The donations were channeled through Metro TV which was a sponsor of the event that was titled “Pandawa Open sharing with Metro TV for Palu and Donggala.”
