Exciting Times at Resorts World Genting
A cutting-edge lifestyle mall, a cable car with glass floors, the world’s largest hotel, and international brand names all add to the vibrancy of Resorts World Genting.
Resorts World Genting, one of the world’s leading resort operators, has completed some exciting new developments to offer a more vibrant and multifaceted experience for its guests than ever before. Resorts World Genting is the only resort in Malaysia which offers visitors the chance to enjoy a variety of attractions in the cool temperatures, between 14 to 22 degrees daily, afforded at 6,000 feet above sea level.
The resort can be reached by road or for those looking for a different way to arrive, by the Awana Skyway cable car. Visitors opting for the later will enjoy a breathtaking journey via the regular gondolas or the special glass-floored option. Passengers have the choice to disembark at two stops to explore the attractions around Resorts World Genting. They can alight at Chin Swee station to enjoy the panoramic views at the Chin Swee Caves Temple or they can remain in their gondola until the final stop at SkyAvenue station which connects directly to the SkyAvenue shopping mall.
The resort area consists of seven hotels, each of which offers high-quality, modern amenities along with the beautifully crisp mountain air and natural splendour of the area. One of the hotels, First World Hotel, boasts 10,000 rooms and with them the Guinness World Record as the world’s largest hotel.
Whichever of the seven hotels guests opt to stay at, there are plenty of attractions to be explored. SkyAvenue, a 1.4 million square feet, five-storey shopping mall offers visitors extensive dining and shopping options with 168 retail outlets, 160 brands of which 70 are food and beverage, and 98 retailers when it is fully opened.
Other attractions include SeniKome Péng Hēng, a fascinating cultural attraction on Level 3 of First World Plaza; Skytropolis Indoor theme park which will feature a total of 24 rides when completed to surely meet the fun and excitement of children and the whole family; and Genting Highlands Premium outlets, a place that has already attracted scores of visitors to the resort for shopping at over 150 top brand tenants.
Play at Over 3,100 feet
For golf tourists, the 18-hole Awana Genting Highlands Golf & Country Resort will definitely be included on the list of places to visit at Genting Highlands. Located atop the mountains, 3,100 feet above sea level, the 18-hole golf course designed by Ronald-Fream features a unique golfing experience for golfers of all abilities.
Established in 1986, the newly improved championship golf course presents a refreshing experience for players. With new tee box positions on Hole 3, 4, 12 and 18, renovated bunkers, and improved fairways, the 5,860 meter Awana golf course has added immense value to the comfortable playing experience.
Some of the courses most interesting holes are the 3rd hole where players are able to see Resorts World Genting, the notorious “double dogleg” 12th hole where the landing area for the first shot is very narrow, and the uphill 13th.
With panoramic views of Genting Highlands and the year-round refreshingly cool climate - something of a rarity in Asia - players are sure to derive pleasure from the unique, comfortable experience of playing Awana’s golf course.
