For Lombok Relief
The Rotary Club Bali Nusa Dua (RCBND) held a Charity Golf Tournament on the beautiful course of Bali National Golf Club on 8 September 2018. Some 100 players joined the tournament and over 120 players and guests attended the awards dinner. It was the 18th such charity golf tournament organised by the RCBND since the club was established 26 years ago.
The tournament raised funds for the various charitable activities of the club of which more than IDR 40 million will go towards Lombok relief and reconstruction efforts. The RCBND has a proud record of providing support for a wide range of charitable programs in the local and wider Bali communities. Over its 26 years of existence, RCBND has made considerable contributions to a wide range of issues.
The RCBND programs include the Cleft Lip & Palate Operation Program – one of RCBND’s signature and ongoing programs; working closely with local NGOs and Government healthcare authorities about HIV-AIDS program; supporting the establishment of the blood transfusion unit of Sanglah General Hospital in Denpasar which serves a total of five million Indonesians plus the millions of tourists that visit Bali each year; beginning a program to help improve the level of teaching at schools in remote areas of Bali and providing scholarships to underprivileged children; cooperation with Yayasan Puspadi Bali (formerly Yayasan YAKUM) to train and assist people with physical disabilities; supporting the Suryani Institute in reaching and providing professional psychiatric therapy and medication to mentally ill people on Bali; and joining some 35,000 clubs around the world to provide funding for Rotary International’s global fight against polio: End Polio Now.
