Support Our Golf Please!
The Indonesian Golf Course Owner Association (APLGI) has urged the government to support golf tourism. Golf courses in Indonesia, which total about 140, offer many advantages when compared to other countries in Southeast Asia, but due to a lack of promotion this hasn’t been exposed. "There is a good potential as a leading tourist destination for golf travelers," said the Chairman of the APLGI Hendro S. Gondokusumo.
Secretary General of the APLGI, Feliks Haryanto, added that the APLGI has a mission to make Indonesia a world-class golf destination. “To reach the goal, we need the government’s support as the Thai and Malaysian government do. Travel agents and the media’s coorperation are also needed,” said Feliks.
